Notably, the artwork, crafted by fine artist Michael Flechtner, draws inspiration from a fireworks display, with its bright colors and dynamic motion embodying the spirit of a celebration. To create this effect, Flechtner worked with heated glass tubing, neon gas, and phosphor coatings, making this stamp one of the most visually striking ever issued.
